Videoperformance, 2010

In my video performance SAVE, I contrast medial forms of representation with reality. The central element of the performance is a VASE, the anagram of which forms the title. The simple plot comprises the safe transport of the vase from one pedestal to another. The stage consists of two staggered mounted screens. In front of the right rear screen I reenact a film, synchronously and in symmetrical opposition to its projection on the front left screen. During this process I disappear behind the left screen, reappearing as a live projection on the right one. A bafflingly complex network of intersecting layers of time and space unfolds. The disintegration of its fragments sees them mesh to form a whole.
